This wine was created in 1993 as a DOC variety. It results from a blend of Cabernet franc, Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and a small percentage of Marzemino. It is produced on the hills around Conegliano, in the area that stretches from Pieve di Soligo along the Feletto and Vittorio Veneto hills to Fregona. This wine has formed part of our production since 1996.
Predominantly clay, hilly, of morainic origin.
Cultivation is on spurred cordon and the number of vines per hectar is approximately 5000.
Red vinification, with maceration lasting 12-14 days at a temperature of 28/30°C to favour the dissolution of the colouring substances and of the tannins contained in grape skins. A long maceration favours the production of a wine that is suitable for ageing.The ageing process takes place in French barrels and lasts 24 months, after which the wine is further aged in bottles for no less than 6 months.
