REFOSCO dal Peduncolo Rosso Doc Grave Friuli
Production area:
This vine has ancient origins which probably date back
to approx. 1400. It belongs to the large group of autochthonous
Friuli Venezia Giulia vines and was originally
grown in the area between the Karst and Istria.
The large family of Refosco wines also includes Refosco
de Faedis, Refosco d’Istria, Refosco di Rauscedo,
Refosco magnacan, Refoscone and Refosco del Carso, in
addition to Terrano del Carso and Terrano d’Istria,which
also are Refosco wines.
These vines are not very widely grown, unlike Refosco dal
peduncolo rosso, which is extremely popular in Friuli.
Vinification system:
Red vinification, with maceration lasting 5-6 or 12-14
days according to the product at a temperature close to
30°C to favour the dissolution of the colouring substances
and of the tannins contained in grape skins. A short
maceration favours the production of a wine that are
drinkable soon.

- Effective alcohol level: % vol. 13.50 +/- 0.50
- Sugar: g/l less than 2.7
- Total acidity: g/l 5.30 +/- 0.50
Organoleptic characteristics
- Colour: Intense ruby red with violet shades.
- Aroma: Its aroma is reminiscent of red fruits, such as raspberry
and wild blackberry. Young wines have a slightly herbaceous
aroma, which becomes less intense and more delicate
with age.
- Flavour: Harmonious with a balanced acidity and a good structure.
It has a pleasantly sharp aftertaste, with a hint goudron.

- 1 g of alcohol: 7 Kcal
- 1 l of dry wine at 10°: 600 Kcal
- 1 g of sugar: 4 Kcal.
- Serving suggestions: A perfect match for poultry and red meat and semimatured
cheese.
- Serving temperature: at 18-20° C.
- Storage: Store in a cool place, away from the light and heat.
- Packing and marketing: 0.750-l glass bottles inside boxes of 6 or 12 bottles each.

50 boxes with 12 bottles each (10 per layer);
100 boxes with 6 bottles each (20 per layer).
